What We Do:

Synetec delivers Custom, Web and Enterprise Application development to its customers along with associated backend, database and integration work. Typically this might be delivered with a consultant led approach to empower the customer to work better themselves which may be fulfilled via a Team Augmentation approach. Synetec also delivers knowledge services around Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Big Data to empower businesses to make best use of one of their primary assets, their data.

 

The Role:

The Head of Projects and Service Delivery role is a key management role within the business ensuring the effective delivery of all the commissioned projects in the business and ensuring that all customers needs are met whilst the business remains profitable and delivers on the commercial aspirations.
The role is a hands-on managerial role and the successful applicant will be able to manage multiple projects and team members to deliver software to Synetec’s customers. As the ultimate customer escalation point the role carries a high level of responsibility to engage with customers with integrity and a high degree of professionalism.
The role will report directly to the CEO and will be part of the Senior Management Team. It would suit a Senior Project Manager or Service Delivery Manager looking to take advantage of their hands-on experience in a managerial setting. This job is for someone who has a proven track record in ‘Get Things Done’ and for whom missing deadlines is not an option.

 

The Responsibilities:

Direct Management responsibility for all Product Owners (currently 2) and the Head of Development (leading a team of 9 people)
Reporting to the Senior Management Team on the performance of the Operational areas of the business including all utilisation, profitability and strategic improvements required.
Setup and maintain a Project Management Office to ensure the efficient delivery of all projects to customers
Provide Hands-on Leadership and mentoring to the Product Owners and Development team
Ensure effective implementation of Agile (SCRUM and KanBan) and Waterfall methodologies providing training and leadership on when each is appropriate and provide process and procedure leadership as to their proper implementation in the business.
Oversee all operational processes within the team including all ITIL framework mechanisms for the efficient running of the department including, but not limited to, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and Release Management
Establish the efficient running of the existing Service Desk and ready it for future growth
Oversee and manage the Operations Budget
Oversee and manage the recruitment of team members
Develop an Operations Strategy with team members and Peers to ensure the delivery of new products developed by the CTO Office and the effective delivery of existing products in the portfolio.
Ensure customers are happy and a regular communication structure is put in place in co-operation with the Sales Account Management team.
Oversee the efficient use of development resource in the business
Be able to deliver Product Owner and Scoping workshops for specific customers in a consultative capacity

 

Essential Skills:

5+ Years experience in a Project Management role
Experience working with Software Development projects
Experience with management and mentoring of other team members

 

Desirable Skills:

2+ Years in a Management role mentoring and working with junior team members
Experience of delivering Scoping workshops for customers in a software development environment

Salary of £70,000 to £80,000, depending on experience
