Associate .NET Engineer

Synetec are searching for an enthusiastic and self-motivated software developer to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excited to learn new skills and also deliver great work. Synetec is a service-based company, so our projects vary depending on our clients requirements, and there is a good mix of challenges to sink your teeth into. In order to be prepared to meet these challenges, Synetec also provides training to our team members on relevant technologies. We have recently completed a round of AWS training and certification, and this would also be available to our new team members. Within the team we like to encourage a friendly and collaborative atmosphere, from “lunch-and-learn” sessions to team trips to the bowling lane (which may, or may not be a little competitive!) We like team-members to be honest and open with each other, with the aim of delivering quality software, on time and keeping our clients happy. Our team’s happiness is important to us and not only do we mentor, train and support individuals, but we also have flexi-time, work-from-home policies to ensure that they are working in an environment that can bring out their very best.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering great software that we can all be proud of
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts to transform client requirements into impactful software
  • Working with experienced engineers to improve skills and gain experience across the system development life cycle
  • Interfacing with Quality Assurance to produce bullet-proof software
  • Supporting our clients bespoke software systems by delivering enhancements and fixing bugs
  • Improving skills by training, certification and mentorship
  • Conducting peer code reviews

Essential Experience/Skills:

  • Dynamic, Driven and Enthusiastic
  • Excellent Communicator
  • A can-do Problem Solver
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent software engineering qualification
  • 3 years commercial software development experience
  • C#
  • SQL (e.g. MSSQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle)
  • Entity Framework (or Nhibernate)
  • Good knowledge of design patterns
  • Good knowledge of writing testable software

Beneficial Experience/Skills:

  • Experience of a cloud platform such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience of a JavaScript Web Framework (e.g. Angular, React, Node)
  • REST API Development
